How To Sew A Simple Knot Strap Bag: No-Pattern Sewing For Beginners!
Everyone loves a bag, and a sturdy tote that needs no pattern is a bonus for beginner stitchers. Made in practically any size you like, all you need is a strip of fabric that is about three times longer than it is wide. Hem the sides, knot the centre, and simply stitch into a bag shape. Make a little one to hold your phone on a night out, a tiny one for stowing dog treats and poo bags, a mid sized version for holding your knitting yarn on the go, or size up for the weekly grocery shop. This will be your new best bag!

I ordered this pattern & received it fine. I like the little apron. However, the directions that came with the templates, were not clear at all. I could not make sense of the directions. I turned to You Tube and found your video. I know that you are the same lady from whom I received the pattern. The video explained the process so well. I was pleased to see it. It just made it so simple for me to sew it. The problem that I could not figure out from the directions was how to sew the dress & turn it right side out. The video was really informative......not so the written directions that came with the templates. Thank you for the video. 🙂

Brilliant. I used to know this method, but old age and wicked living have clearly affected my brain. I travel with a tiny teddy who has sartorial pretensions and a fondness for fancy vests. I’ve been insisting that if I can manage with just carry on, so can he. He can now have three little vests with six different looks.

Followed this pattern to make a dust cover for my New 3DS. A 7" x 10.5" piece is a snug fit, but works. I used interfacing instead of wadding and didn't bother to top-stitch the flap (my stitching is a bit unfortunate looking). Gave it a pass with an iron instead and it looks fine.

I think a decent cotton jersey would work best, got some structure but not too much stretchiness that it would go baggy. You'd be best to go into an actual fabric store to feel the weight and stretch, c x
